Short version: I run a little analytics to see what's useful, I only keep your email if you hand it to me, and I never sell your data. The details are below.

What I collect

Two kinds of thing, and that’s it:

  • Anonymous usage data. Which pages get visited, rough device/browser, approximate location (from your IP), and basic interactions like a 👍/👎 vote or a month click. This runs through Google Analytics and PostHog so I can tell which pages actually help people.
  • Your email — only if you give it. If you subscribe to updates, or leave an email with a piece of feedback so I can reply, I store that address (sent through Resend) and use it only for that.

Cookies & local storage

Analytics tools set cookies to count visits. The site also saves one small preference in your browser — your °F/°C unit choice — so it sticks between visits. You can clear or block these anytime in your browser settings; the site still works.

What I don't do

  • I don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
  • There are no ad networks or third-party ad trackers on the site.
  • There are no accounts or passwords to manage.

Who else touches the data

A few standard services help run the site: Google Analytics and PostHog (usage analytics), Resend (sending email), and Vercel (hosting). Each only sees what it needs to do its job.

Your choices

You can block analytics cookies in your browser, unsubscribe from any email with one click, or email me to ask what I have on you and delete it. For anything privacy-related, reach me at tom@whichmonth.com.
